Do I have to pay anything to try Echo?
No, and you don't need a card either. The Free plan gives you the thread editor, the image editor and one Echo profile. On top of that you can earn up to 30 credits by following @echoappx and sharing Echo, which is enough to publish your first posts from inside the app before deciding anything.
Do I have to connect my X account?
Yes — you sign in with X and that is the whole sign-up. Echo asks for the minimum permissions: read your public profile and posts, and publish the ones you send. It cannot read your DMs, follow anyone on your behalf or delete anything, and nothing goes out that you have not written and approved.
Won't it sound like AI?
That is exactly what Echo is built to avoid. It does not write for you from a blank page: you set up an Echo profile with your tone, your formats and the words you never use, and every rewrite respects those rules. You always see the before and after, and you decide what stays.
How long does it take to get going?
Minutes. You sign in with X and you can write straight away with the Echo profile that comes built in, or create your own from scratch. On a paid plan Echo builds it for you by analysing your latest posts. There is nothing to install: no extension, no plugin.
What do I get by paying that I don't get for free?
A monthly pot of credits and everything that has a real cost behind it: publishing and Auto-RT on X without running out, image generation with Echo AI, Echo profiles built automatically from your posts, up to 30 scheduled posts at a time and downloads with no watermark. Creator is €15 a month, VAT included.
Is 4,500 credits a month a lot or a little?
It works out to around 450 published tweets, or between 60 and 90 images generated or edited with AI, or 450 improved text blocks — in practice, a mix of the three. The range on images depends on the model you pick. Before every action the button shows exactly what it costs, so you never spend without knowing.
And if I subscribe and it turns out not to be for me?
You cancel it yourself from Settings → Subscription & credits, in the Stripe portal, without writing to anyone. It takes effect at the end of the cycle you have already paid for, so you keep everything until then, and your drafts, designs and Echo profiles stay in your account in case you come back.
What do you do with what I write?
Your posts, your drafts and your Echo profiles are only used to produce your own results, and they are private to your account. Echo does not train any model with them and does not share them with third parties.
